About the Job:
The Performing Arts Department Head is responsible for: (1) oversight of curricular and extra-curricular performing arts programs, from kindergarten through twelfth grade; (2) oversight of performing arts teachers’ teaching and professional growth; (3) coordination of the performing arts calendar and programs with other programs within the school, including the school’s robust Chapel and Community Time programming; (4) communication about and promotion of the program, both formal and informal, with various individuals and groups within the school and beyond; (5) supervision of departmental curriculum, staffing, scheduling, budget, and other departmental policies and procedures; (6) collaboration with Principals, the Assistant Head of School, and the Head of School in hiring and mentoring new teachers within the department; and (7) oversight of the school’s audio-visual staff, in partnership with the school’s technology staff.
