About the Job

The Episcopal School is looking for a Director of Development who is a strategic, creative, and collaborative leader with a love for working in an early childhood school. The Director of Development is the staff member in charge of fund raising, alumni and community relations, parent volunteers, and special events. The ideal candidate will have a successful track record of raising funds and experience in annual giving; increasing alumni and constituent engagement; effective analytical skills; and the ability to run events and manage parent volunteers. The Director of Development will report to the Director of School and will work closely with other school administrators. The Director of Development will collaborate in developing priorities and strategies to advance the mission of the School. It is expected the candidate will use data and analytics to provide comprehensive reporting to the Director and Board of Trustees.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required

• At least 2-4 years of experience working with students and families at another student-focused nonprofit, in preK-12 or higher-ed.

• Experience with Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge is preferred

• Outstanding public speaking and writing skills

• Proven ability to work in a collaborative manner

• Demonstrated problem solving and organizational skills, with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy

• Familiarity with independent schools preferred
